At eleven years old, while living in Riverside, California, my life changed in an instant. I survived a shooting that left me completely blind. At that age, I could not understand why I had survived or what my future would become. I only knew that my life had changed.
Over time, I came to believe that God spared my life for a reason. That belief did not erase the difficult days, but it gave them meaning and encouraged me to keep moving forward.
In 2001, I wrestled for Ramona High School in Riverside. Wrestling taught me discipline, determination, and perseverance. It taught me that life may knock you down, but rising again is always possible.
Fatherhood has taught me some of the deepest lessons about patience, love, and responsibility. I am also an author and storyteller whose books explore romance, suspense, horror, adventure, grief, faith, family, and mystery.
The Silent Sword: Rise of the Midnight Guardian follows Ethan Cross, a blind man whose life is shaped by tragedy, faith, discipline, and a calling to protect others.
By day, Ethan uses his hands to help people heal. By night, he becomes the Midnight Guardian, moving through the darkness to defend those who cannot defend themselves. As powerful enemies close in, Ethan is forced to confront danger, sacrifice, and the deeper meaning of the second chance he was given.
As I grew older, life brought a different kind of challenge: love, heartbreak, loss, and eventually fatherhood.
The Duke’s Veiled Obsession is a dark romance filled with mystery, psychological tension, attraction, control, and choice.
When Elara Voss receives a mysterious invitation to Velmora Keep, she enters a world where nothing is quite what it seems. Inside the castle, desire and danger become difficult to separate as she is drawn into the Duke’s unsettling world and a selection that may change everything.
Fatherhood has taught me more about strength than almost anything else in my life. There have been difficult circumstances surrounding my place in my daughter’s life, and those experiences taught me that strength is not always about fighting harder or speaking louder.
Sometimes strength means staying present, choosing patience, and making sure the person you love knows you are still there.
Writing gave me a new kind of freedom. It allows me to create places I have never visited, develop characters who never existed, and take readers into stories filled with emotion and imagination. Some ideas begin with a memory, an emotion, a question, or a dream. From there, characters take shape and stories begin to come alive.
I write under the name Anthony Biren. Some of my characters and names are inspired by family, friends, people I have loved and lost, and readers who have supported my work.
My stories take readers into very different worlds. One book may explore a mysterious castle where love, control, and danger become difficult to separate. Another may follow a guardian who protects people from threats they cannot see. Another may lead readers into fear, grief, adventure, or supernatural mystery.
I hope my books entertain readers, move them emotionally, and give them a chance to step away from the real world for a while. My purpose is to live with gratitude, love deeply, create without limits, and continue becoming the father my daughter deserves.
I am a father, an author, and a storyteller. I have experienced moments that changed me, people who touched my life, losses that humbled me, and challenges that forced me to discover strength I did not know I had.
Through all of it, one belief has remained:
Sometimes darkness is where we discover strength. Sometimes heartbreak teaches us how deeply we can love. Sometimes loss teaches us to treasure what remains. And sometimes the very thing we believed would destroy us becomes the beginning of a purpose we could not yet see.
For me, that purpose is simple:
To live with gratitude.
To love deeply.
To create without limits.
To be the father my daughter deserves.
And whenever I can, to use my experiences and my stories to remind someone else that their story is not finished either.
